Lube Technician
Purpose & Objective:
The Lube Technician & Facilities Assistant plays a dual role in supporting both automotive service operations and general facility maintenance at Dell’s Service Center. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, variety in their daily tasks, and contributing to the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of both the vehicles and the shop environment.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
PRIMARY:
Automotive Service Duties
- Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid top-offs.
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections and report findings to senior technicians
- Assist with tire pressure checks, filter replacements, and light-duty mechanical tasks.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lube bay and work area.
Facility Maintenance Duties
- Perform general building maintenance and upkeep (light repairs, organizing supplies, cleaning).
- Operate lawn care equipment to mow grass, trim edges, and maintain landscaping
- Handle seasonal responsibilities including snow plowing, shoveling walkways, and applying salt as needed.
- Ensure exterior areas of the property remain clean, safe, and presentable.
- Assist with miscellaneous facility-related tasks as assigned by management.
SECONDARY:
Must possess the following Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Previous experience performing oil changes or working in a lube bay.
- Experience with snow plows, salt spreaders, and lawn care equipment.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and tools
- Physical Demands – ability to lift more than 50 lbs without assistance and to stand for periods of up to 60 minutes at a time
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to operate landscaping and snow removal equipment or willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Precision in performing automotive repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability and knowledge of how to use a computer and diagnostic tools to diagnose vehicles, look up repair instructions, and access Customer Management Software. This includes the ability to view a monitor, and use touch screens, mice and keyboards.
